Scrap Your Car in Mold

No — when you scrap your vehicle with an authorised treatment facility like Lelo Metals, we notify the DVLA on your behalf as part of the Certificate of Destruction process. You do not need to contact the DVLA separately.

Yes. As an authorised treatment facility (ATF), Lelo Metals issues a Certificate of Destruction (CoD) for every vehicle we scrap. This is your legal proof that the vehicle has been destroyed and removes your liability as the registered keeper. We also notify the DVLA on your behalf as part of this process.

Once your vehicle has been processed, we will pay you directly to your bank account. For drop offs or collection before 4pm, you will be paid to your account on the same day.

No, it does not need to start. However, if you have requested a collection, please make sure the vehicle is in a place where it can be collected.

No, as long as we can get the vehicle registration number and vin number. However, having the log book does make the process quicker and easier.

We pay via same day bank transfer for all collections before 4pm.

Our standard collection times across North Wales are Monday to Friday, 07.30 – 17.00. Out of hours collection may be possible subject to availability — please contact us to discuss.

Absolutely. We have trained staff on site at our North Wales scrap yard to help you unload and separate the various metals you may have. Weighbridge staff will advise you where to go and what to do, so don't worry if it's your first visit.

You do not need a valid MOT to scrap your car. Lelo Metals accepts end-of-life vehicles regardless of their MOT status. Whether your car has failed its MOT, has an expired MOT, or has never had one, we can still collect it or accept it as a drop-off at our Corwen yard.

Yes, in many cases this is possible. If you are scrapping a vehicle on behalf of a family member, as part of an estate, or the car was gifted to you, please contact us before dropping it off or booking a collection. We will need to verify your identity and may require supporting documentation, such as a letter of authority or proof of ownership transfer. Our team will guide you through the process.

No. If your vehicle has outstanding finance, it is not legally yours to sell or scrap until the finance is fully settled. Scrapping a car with outstanding finance without the lender's consent could constitute fraud. We recommend contacting your finance provider first to settle the agreement or obtain written permission before proceeding. If you are unsure, give us a call and we will advise you.

The process is quick and straightforward. For drop-offs at our Corwen yard, the whole process typically takes around 15 to 30 minutes from arrival to payment. For collections, we aim to arrange a convenient time and complete the collection within a day or two of your enquiry, subject to availability. Payment is made on the same day for collections and drop-offs completed before 4pm.

Lelo Metals will collect scrap cars from across North Wales and even into West Cheshire or the Wirral. You can find out if we collect in your location by entering your post code into the instant quote calculator on our website.
